There are many people, groups, organizations and businesses who have helped 2 Feet 4 Paws become what we are today and we also support them whenever possible. This is the page that recognizes their efforts - we wouldn't list them if we didn't respect and admire their work. Please pay them a visit!
Vicky's Pet Connection (VPC) was the inspriation behind the Critter Cottage and is our primary partner in pet rescue. Andrew and Amanda volunteered for VPC before founding 2 Feet 4 Paws and have been the foster home for over 50 dogs that have graduated from VPC's program. Thousands of dogs and cats (and even a pig!) from around west Michigan have found loving homes thanks to VPC's efforts and countless more homeless pets have been prevented thanks to an aggressive spay/neuter campaign. Founders Vicky Freund (the "dog person") and Nancy Mogle (the "cat person") have worked tirelessly to build VPC into a powerful yet efficient advocate and enabler of pet welfare in Michigan.
Animal Hospital of Lowell is a huge supporter of pet rescue initiatives, providing medical services, facilities, and other assistance to several non-profits. Bruce Langlois, the owner and veterinarian, also organizes spay/neuter clinics locally, travels abroad to assist veterinarians in developing countries, and even provided helpful business advice and referrals to help get 2 Feet 4 Paws off the ground.
Safe Harbor Animal Hospital also supports the pet rescue community and its owner and veterinarian, Richelle Smith, is the "family doctor" for Haven and Beacon. In particular Dr. Smith was tremendously helpful when Beacon injured his knee, answering all of Andrew and Amanda's many questions and even smiling when a very nervous Beacon had an accident, earning him the nickname "Leakin' Beacon" among the hospital staff.
Double Dog Design is the creative brilliance behind our logo although designer Shannon Reincke credits her beagles as the "art directors" in the enterprise. Double Dog has long supported humane causes in west Michigan including Vicky's Pet Connection (yes, she did their logo, too!)
MLDS Networks is a bold start-up by Brock Palen to offer site hosting to anyone who wants a website coupled with excellent customer service. As the internet service provider for 2 Feet 4 Paws, you know MLDS Networks is doing its job if you're reading this page!
Carol's Ferals
is a feral cat rescue founded by Carol Manos, whose boundless energy is
directed into controlling the populations of domestic cats that roam
wild. Go visit her blog - Carol has an infectious passion for her
cause!
Focus on Ferals
is another great feral cat rescue that compliments the efforts of
Carol's Ferals. Founder Gina Marvin runs a very effective operation
and countless feral cats owe her a big thanks!
Kent County Animal Shelter
has the unenviable job of being the last chance for lost or unwanted
pets. They do what they can with what they have and maximize their
impact by working with local pet rescue organizations like Vicky's Pet
Connection to help absorb the burden of animals coming through their
doors.
