Durapet bowls are made from stainless steel with a rubber ring bonded to the bottom to prevent sliding while your pet wines and dines. Porcelain bowls can break; plastic bowls can crack and get scratched. Stainless steel will last virtually forever!
Haven and Beacon offer the following advice:
The size of a food bowl should be big enough to hold a full meal's serving of food with a little extra height to reduce the amount of spillover when our excited tongues get carried away. Don't go too big, however, or there could be the temptation to overfeed a dog - not that we wouldn't stop begging for more!
Water bowls should be one size larger than food bowls because while we eat only twice a day, we drink frequently and it never hurts to have extra water available year-round, especially in the hot summer sun or dry winter air.
